Erratic driver crashes into truck during police chase

HOUSTON – A man was arrested after crashing his car during a police chase and then trying to run from officers.

A police officer saw a car driving erratically on Richmond near Shepard around 2 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Houston Police Department.

When the officer tried to pull over the driver, he sped off and police pursued. 

Officials said the man raced down Richmond for a few blocks before crashing into a truck.

Police said the driver jumped out of the car and took off running. Police quickly caught him.

Officials said the man is suspected of drunken driving. Charges against him are pending.

No injuries were reported.
