HOUSTON -

 A southwest Houston apartment fire is being blamed on an electrical short.

It started around 9 p.m. Thursday at the apartment complex on Westbranch and Rodeo Square.

The fire started in the second floor of one of the buildings.

When firefighters arrived they found fire and smoke coming from a second floor apartment.

Firefighters were able to get the flames under control quickly, but two units were still damaged.

The person who rents the apartment where the fire started, was not home at the time.

No one was injured.
