HOUSTON – A 65-year-old woman is hoping to sort things out with her water provider after receiving a $3,500 water bill in the mail.
Darlene Johnson says she was billed for using nearly 500,000 gallons of water.

Johnson says she recently had her water meter replaced, and at the same time a small leak was discovered in a sprinkler head.
Even with the leak, Johnson says that amount of water doesn't add up.
Local 2 contacted Johnson's water provider, who told us that they are taking a second look at her bill, to see what they can do.
