Elderly man carjacked outside Richmond library

Police: Man threw victim to ground, stole car

RICHMOND, Texas – An elderly man was carjacked Monday afternoon outside of a library in Richmond, according to police.

The incident was reported about 3:20 p.m. at the George Memorial Library on Golfview Drive.

According to Richmond police, the victim was approached by a man while he was inside the library, but was able to get away. As the victim was leaving the library, the man approached the victim again. This time, he pulled the victim out of his car and threw him to the ground. The man then drove away with the victim's car.

The victim suffered minor injuries during the carjacking, police said.

The man was described as tall with an orange, Mohawk haircut. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a white T-shirt and a wristband that may have been issued by a hospital or prison.
