Driver's window shot out in Kingwood

Police believe someone shot SUV with BB gun

HOUSTON – A driver from Kingwood said someone shot out her window on the Eastex Freeway last Monday evening.

The victim, Barbara, asked that her last name not be released. She said she and her mother got onto Highway 59 and were headed to Humble.

She saw a white, Ford passenger van that she thought was going to hit her. She said someone stuck what looked like a gun out the window, and she and her mom ducked, trying to avoid getting hurt.

"As he was about to pass, I noticed an arm sticking out the window and a black object in his hand. All I could do is tell mama to duck. I'm going down 59 kind of ducking and then it sounded like a shotgun went off," said Barbara.

Barbara said the van's driver kept going after she pulled over.

"I'm thankful to God that my daughter, granddaughter was not in the back. And I'm glad that it hit back here because my mother, who I love dearly, was in the passenger seat," said Babara.

Houston police believe someone fired a BB gun and hit the SUV.

Barbara said a stranger kindly found her a replacement window since she didn't have the $600 for a new one.
