HOUSTON -

Houston police need your help finding the person who hit a pedestrian and then kept driving on the Gulf Freeway back in August.

Police said on August 5, a 20-year-old woman was in a vehicle that had pulled to the shoulder after catching fire in the 13700 block of the southbound Gulf Freeway.

Around 4:40 a.m., officials said the woman got out of the car on the passenger's side and began to walk around the burning car.  She was then hit by a car.

Police said the other driver did not stop to help the victim.

The victim was taken to an area hospital and has since recovered from her injuries.  

Investigators have no new information regarding the suspect driver or vehicle and are asking for the public’s help.
