HOUSTON – Police are searching for a driver who was involved in a road-rage incident that led to a fatal crash.
Houston police said the driver of a gold car with a red stripe, believed to be a Mustang, got into an argument with a group of people at the Walmart store on Dunvale near Westheimer about 6:45 a.m. Thursday.
"They hit the guy's door and he got mad at them or something like that," said Lisa Dorsey, the mother of the victim.
The argument spilled out onto Westheimer Road, where the man and the group continued to argue as they drove, detectives said.
The driver of the gold car threw a bottle at the other car, which was an Acura. That caused the driver of the Acura to lose control and swerve into a pole, officials said.
Walmart, fatal crash site
Samantha Dorsey, 23, a backseat passenger, was ejected from the vehicle and died at a hospital, detectives said. She left a 3-year-old daughter behind.
Two other people were taken to hospitals and treated for minor injuries.
The driver of the gold car left the scene, police said. He was only described as black, about 25 years old and 6 feet 2 inches tall with short hair tied into little spikes. He had slits shaved into one of his eyebrows. Witnesses said he spoke with a New Orleans accent.
