HOUSTON -

Houston police were investigating after a man was thrown from his car in a crash Tuesday morning.

Around 4 a.m., officers responded to reports of a wreck on 610 North Loop near T C Jester Boulevard.

When they arrived at the scene, police saw a mangled pickup in the middle of the eastbound lanes of the North Loop.

According to investigators, the driver of the truck hit the concrete barrier that separates the freeway from the feeder road.

Authorities say the force of the impact ejected the driver from the truck, and he was thrown onto the roadway. Police found the victim lying on the 610 feeder road.

An ambulance was called to the scene to transport the driver to the hospital. He was in unknown condition Tuesday morning.
