HOUSTON -

A pickup truck driver was taken into custody after crashing into a parked police car on the Southwest Freeway.

Around 10 p.m. on Saturday, an HPD officer was blocking a lane on the Southwest Freeway near South Gessner for a minor crash.

A truck driver said he did not see the officer's car and slammed into the back of it.

The officer was taken to the hospital in stable condition for minor head and neck injuries.

The driver was taken into custody for suspicion of DWI.

Both the driver's and the officer's names were not immediately released.
