HOUSTON – A driver who was shot and killed crashed into parked cars and a fence in southeast Houston.
Police said the victim was driving a pickup truck when his passenger shot him several times, including once in the head, at 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
According to investigators, the man's truck veered off of Duane Street near Larkspur Street and crashed into two cars before hitting a fence.
Police said the victim may have known his shooter.
"The shooter at one point was inside the vehicle. He exited the vehicle when it came to a stop, proceeded to shoot our victim. The victim was able to drive away two blocks before finally coming to a rest before striking two parked vehicles and a fence," said Christopher Hassig with HPD Homicide.
The man died at the scene. His name was not released.
Police said the gunman escaped. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
