HOUSTON -

A man was taken to the hospital in critical condition after deputies said he was shot in the head at a house party in the Greenspoint area.

Apparently the party, which was located on Sharpton near Moorebrook, had been advertised on Facebook, and the guests were being patted down at the door.

A group of men approached the home around 12:20 Sunday morning, but when they noticed the pat downs, they turned around to leave, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Another vehicle pulled up at that point and someone inside exchanged gunfire with the group.  Deputies said the driver was shot in the head but managed to leave the neighborhood and turn onto West Road, where deputies later found him unconscious.

As of Sunday morning, no suspects have been taken into custody, and there is no description of the suspect vehicle available.

The HCSO is asking anyone with information to call Harris County Homicide or Crime Stoppers.
