SPRING, Texas – Firefighters were cleaning up Friday morning after a driver lost control and crashed his truck into the front of a fire station in Spring.
According to deputies, the driver drove off the road, running through a ditch and the yard in front of Spring Volunteer Fire Department's Station 76. The truck then rammed into the building before stopping in front of a brick sign.
Glass, tires, and debris from the red Ford truck lay scattered in front of the fire station after the crash.
Investigators said, once the vehicle came to a stop, the driver jumped out and ran off. The passenger, who owns the truck, stayed behind.
Officers eventually found the driver standing on the side of the road, about a half a mile away from the station.
Deputies said the driver wasn't intoxicated at the time of the crash.
Investigators said the driver would face a hit and run charge.
