Driver, passenger killed in fiery crash in Jacinto City

HOUSTON – Jacinto City police are investigating after a violent, fiery crash around 1 a.m. Friday.

Police said a man lost control of the sedan he was driving, after the vehicle sped over railroad tracks at Market Street and Fidelity Street.

The vehicle went airborne, slamming through two different fences at the Big Bass Resort Apartments.

The car ended up flipping into the complex parking lot and collided with a parked car.

Both the driver and passenger died at the scene.

"We are still working the accident. We don't know if alcohol was involved. It's still under investigation. It's just a horrific accident, so it's going to take us a while to determine exactly what happened," said Jacinto City Police Chief Joe Ayala.
