Driver killed in accident on outbound Katy Freeway

HOUSTON – A Houston man was killed in a two-vehicle accident on the outbound Katy Freeway.

The incident was reported around 9:30 a.m. Monday, according to Houston TranStar.

Officials said a 48-year-old man was driving the white Freightliner tractor trailer when he locked the vehicle's brakes, causing him to hit another vehicle.

The tractor trailer rolled and the driver died at the scene.

Houston police said the two people in the other vehicle, a 38-year-old woman and a 12-year-old boy, were transported to Northwest Memorial Hermann Hospital with minor injuries.

Drivers experienced significant traffic delays throughout Monday while police investigated the crash.

The victim's name was not immediately released by police.
