Driver going the wrong way on I-10 killed in big rig crash

BAYTOWN, Texas – A driver going the wrong way on I-10 crashed into a big rig and was killed overnight, according to Baytown police.

According to Baytown police, a 21-year-old man was driving a white Honda Civic the wrong way on the westbound lanes of I-10 around 2:15 a.m. Friday when he hit a tractor trailer in the center lane on the Wade Road overpass.

The Civic driver was ejected and hit by other motorists.

The vehicle was trapped underneath the 18-wheeler as a result of the wreck.

The big rig driver was not injured.

An autopsy will be performed on the driver of the Civic to determine if alcohol or drugs were a factor, police said.
