HOUSTON - Police arrested and charged a driver with felony evading after officers said he led them on a brief chase through northeast Houston.
Around midnight Sunday, an HPD unit pulled over a pickup with three men in it on Tidwell Road near Jensen Drive. After the driver stopped at a convenience store, police said he bailed out of the truck and ran off.
Police called in backup and K-9 units to search for the suspect, who was taken into custody about five minutes later. The driver was charged with felony evading.
According to reports, the other passengers in the truck stayed at the scene and told police they did not know why the driver ran away.
The names of the driver and passengers were not immediately released.
