HOUSTON – A man was pronounced dead Saturday after being ejected from his pickup truck during a collision with another vehicle the night before, according to the Houston Police Department.
Authorities said the victim, 53, was making a left turn from Alabonson Road onto Pinemont Drive around 11:30 p.m. Friday when a speeding Dodge Charger slammed into the side of his pickup truck. Officers said the victim, who was driving a Toyota Tundra, was ejected from his vehicle.

According to investigators, the Charger went off road and hit the front of a church.
The victim, who was taken to the hospital in critical condition, died Friday, according to an HPD release.
The driver of the Charger was not hurt and remained at the scene until authorities arrived, police said. The driver was eventually released after being questioned.
Police said the crash is still being investigated.
