Driver crashes into SE Houston home

HOUSTON – A homeowner is lucky to be alive after a driver came barreling through the front of his house.

The crash happened before noon at a home on Dover at Glenbrae in southeast Houston.

"The whole house was shaking," said homeowner Willie Allen.

The destruction was so bad that the 66-year-old homeowner says he was forced to crawl to his bedroom to call for help.

"I had to crawl on the floor because I am handicapped because I had to major strokes. I had to crawl up on my bed to try and get somebody," said Allen.

Allen has no idea how it happened or who the driver is, but he knows his living room is trashed.

Friends spent the day cleaning up. The car has been towed away, but the hole in the house needs days of repair.

"This is a tragedy because I could have been dead," said Allen.

Allen says it's not uncommon for people to drive erratically in his neighborhood, but he's not sure if that's what caused the crash. He just hopes he never goes through this again.

"All I know is, I'm shaking bad. I'm too old for this," said Allen.

Police arrested the driver but the charges the driver faces are still unknown.
