HOUSTON -

A man is behind bars after his erratic driving caused him to crash into two buildings, two vehicles, and break a gas line in north Houston.

According to the Houston Police Department, an officer spotted the man swerving around 2:15 a.m. Sunday on Creekmont Road.

The officer turned around to catch up to the driver, but before she could stop him, he drove off the road and crashed into a building wall.

Police say the driver then bounced off the building and hit a pickup truck parked in front of a house.

The driver continued hitting the front porch of a house and then slamming into a parked SUV causing it to spin out into the street.

Officials say the SUV then hit a gas meter in the yard,  breaking the gas line and causing it to spew out gas.

Firefighters were able to cap the gas line.

After the car came to a stop, the driver jumped out and started running. An officer had to chase him, but he was taken into custody a few blocks later.

The man now faces felony evading and resisting arrest charges.

The only person injured during incident was the suspect, who was treated for a gash to the head at the scene.

Police believe the man may have been intoxicated.
