When the officer attempted to pull the truck over, the driver sped away.

We are told the chase went onto the North Freeway before taking the West Road exit and going down West Mount Houston Drive.

The lengthy chase ended on West Montgomery and Ellington, in front of a home.

The passenger in the truck lives in the home and says he had begged the driver to let him out of the truck during the chase.

The passenger was let go without charges.

The driver, Kevin Mercer, told police he fled because he thought he had warrants out of his arrest.

However, turns out Mercer didn't have any warrants.

But, police say they did find an unlicensed, concealed handgun under Mercer's seat.

Mercer was arrested on weapons charges and felony evading.
