Police are on the lookout for a group of men who opened fired on a woman as she was driving in northwest Harris County.
Wednesday was a very frightening morning for students at three nearby schools after their campuses were put on lockdown because of the shooting.
The shooting happened just after 9 a.m. Wednesday. A woman driving this car says another vehicle filled with men pulled up alongside her and starting firing.
The victim drove away from the scene and called 9-1-1 when she reached a safe location.
Her car was hit three times. The woman was not injured.
The incident happened near several schools and Cy-Fair immediately moved to put Horn Elementary and Truitt Middle School on lockdown. That meant no one could go in or out while police searched for the suspect.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School was also put on a lockdown. The lockdown was lifted after several hours.
Parents say they're glad the school acted swiftly to protect their children.
The victim said she didn't get a good description of the suspects.
