HOUSTON -

A quick downpour forced some drivers to slow down as they navigated Saturday night around Almeda Mall.

Parts of southeast Houston got as much as an inch of rain in just a few hours, causing minor flooding on some roads along the Gulf Freeway

Saturday's storms also led to a shelter-in-place in northeast Harris County. The Atascocita Volunteer Fire Department said a storage tank holding methyl mercaptan exploded after it was struck by lightening.

It ended up in the middle of Atascocita Road and caused a natural gas leak, prompting the shelter in place order.

People along the coast also saw another weather phenomenon. Local 2 viewers sent in photos of a waterspout off of the Galveston coast (pictured, below).
