HOUSTON -

Harris County Constables are sending out a warning about burglars knocking on front doors, before they break in.

The latest burglary was reported on Martin Road in Shepherd Park Plaza.

According to constables, crooks will come to your door and knock, or ring the doorbell. If no one answers the door, the crooks will break inside the home.

If someone is home, the crooks will ask for someone of a random name to try and fool the homeowner before they leave.

Constables say if someone you do not know knocks on your door, you should call the police.
