A local woman has been reunited with her shih tzu after the animal was caught on camera being taken from her front yard.

Demetria George says she let her dog, Honey, out last week in front of her Northshore home on Wickhamford Way.  When she turned her back, the dog was gone.

George checked her home's surveillance video and saw a woman drive up, take Honey in her arms and drive away.  George thought Honey had been stolen.

However, on Sunday, George says she got a call from Harris County Precinct 2 deputy constables. They told her the dog had been found.

George met the woman who was seen on surveillance video with Honey.  The woman contacted authorities after seeing Honey's story on the news.

She said she had taken Honey because she was afraid the dog was going to get hit by a car. Honey had no tags, so the woman could not directly contact George.
