According to deputies with the Galveston County Sheriff's Office, she told dispatchers that she took the gun from her husband Lindsey Harvey and shot him on Thursday night.

He was pronounced dead at the couple's home in the 200 block of 11th Street in San Leon.

Detectives said they obtained a search warrant for the residence and found the gun used was a Ruger .357 revolver.

It was located in a dresser drawer inside its carrying bag.

Harvey was too intoxicated at the time of the initial investigation to interview, but she later said that she was the victim of physical abuse and sexual assault, deputies said.

Sheriff's office records show several calls were made to the couple's home, some for assault or disturbances, but investigators never found any signs of a disturbance.

Genevieve Harvey is in the county jail on a $100,000 bond.
