KATY, Texas – A woman died in an accident Wednesday evening, after her daughter ran her over.
Harris County Sheriff's deputies said the daughter was bringing her elderly mother to her home on Cove Hollow Drive at Cornerstone Place Drive around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday.
The daughter pulled up along the side of the street to let her mother out so she could walk up the driveway.
After her mother stepped out of the car, the daughter looked down briefly at her phone. When she looked up, she couldn't see her mother and assumed she had made it inside her home.
She began to drive away and felt a bump beneath her car tires.
Deputies said somehow the mother had fallen in front of the car and the daughter didn't realize it. When she drove away, she ran over her mother, killing her.
According to Harris County deputies, the daughter was beside herself with grief.
