Deputies still searching for T-Mobile robbery suspect

Officials hope new surveillance video will help

HOUSTON – The Harris County Sheriff's Office released surveillance video of a robbery that happened on May 23 at a cell phone store.

Officials are hoping it will help catch the robber who is still on the run.

The video showed two men, wearing bandanas and carrying a shot gun, barge into the T-Mobile store on FM 1960 near Ella Boulevard. They forced all the workers to get face down on the floor in a back storage room. Investigators said they grabbed money before running out the front doors.

The suspects got away with an undisclosed amount of money

On the day of the crime, deputies arrested 17-year-old Justin Rogers after finding him nearby.

Sgt. Eric Batton with the Harris County Sheriff's Office said the suspect had changed his clothes and had some of the stolen money in his possession when they found him hiding in the neighborhood and took him into custody.

"Originally at the scene, they were wearing gray pants, white t-shirts and bandanas over their faces," Batton said.

When they found one of the suspects, he was wearing black shorts and no shirt. Deputies brought him back to the store where T-Mobile employees positively identified him.

Rogers was charged with aggravated robbery, but officials said his accomplice has not been caught.
