HOUSTON - Police are searching for five people who fled from a stolen car after a chase and crash in northeast Harris County.
It happened Monday around 1:45 a.m near the intersection of Cutten Road and Farm Road 1960.
According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the driver of the stolen car cut off a deputy while turning out of a parking lot.
When the officer attempted to pull the man over, the driver sped off eastbound on FM 1960.
After less than half a mile, the driver struck a curb and popped a tire, forcing the car to stop.
The five people inside of the car jumped out and fled to a wooded area.
After about an hour of searching with K-9, deputies called off the search without catching any suspects.
Investigators say the car was reported stolen out of Houston.
