Harris County deputies arrested a man accused of breaking into a teenage girl's bedroom and taking off all of his clothes before the girl woke up and found him naked in her bedroom.
Investigators say it happened early Saturday morning in a neighborhood north of I-10 and west of Fry Road. The girl found the man in her upstairs bedroom and went to her parents. They called 911 after 3 a.m.
"I just got all my kids downstairs. We got four bedrooms upstairs, one down. I said, 'Show yourself. If someone is here, show yourself now,'" said the victim's father, who asked that we not use his name so as to not identify his daughter.
He says he tried to find the man, but couldn't so he waited for police.
"Next thing you know, they bring a guy down in my 11-year-old son's baseball jersey and my daughter's sweat pants and we are in shock," he said.
Police arrested 25-year-old Rick Allen Mitchell and charged him with burglary with intent to commit a felony -- that being indecency with a child.
The father discovered window screens destroyed outside his house, but none of his windows were open.
"Pretty scary situation. He could have murdered us in our sleep. My children, they've been sleeping in my room for the past several days," he said.
His fence was open and he discovered many of his neighbor's fences were open, too. Now the family is changing the locks on their doors.
No one was harmed.
A woman who claimed to be Mitchell's sister called Local 2 and said her brother was drunk and went into the wrong house. She claimed he lived nearby, but court records list a different address for Mitchell.
Mitchell is being held in the Harris County Jail on $75,000 bond.
