GALVESTON, Texas -

A Galveston County man is facing charges for allegedly shooting another man during an argument at a tiki bar.

At around 11:15 p.m. Monday, the Galveston County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a disturbance at the Tiki Bar and Grille in the 100 block of the Gulf Freeway. Upon arrival, deputies say they found a man with a gunshot wound to the stomach.

William Wimmer, of Bayou Vista, was transported by ambulance to the UTMB hospital where he underwent surgery. Wimmer, 37, is in stable condition.

Deputies say Mark Anthony Martino, of Tiki Island, shot Wimmer and they recovered the weapon he used.

According to witnesses, the two men had been arguing through the night and had to be separated at least once before the shooting happened. Witnesses also told deputies that Martino and Wimmer had an ongoing disagreement.

Martino, 56, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is being held in the Galveston County Jail on $60,000 bond.
