HOUSTON -

The Harris County Precinct 1 Constable's Office is sending out an alert about a man who exposed himself to a woman in The Heights.

The woman said it happened to her Monday at around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Aurora and Cornell streets in the Sunset Heights.

She had just left her home on E. 27th and began walking toward North Main. She told deputies that's when a newer model gray pick-up truck stopped beside her. The driver asked her for directions, so she approached the truck to speak with him.

She told deputies that's when she noticed the man was naked from the waist down and was exposing himself.

"He rolled down the window and said 'I can't hear you. Can you come closer?'" said the victim's neighbor, who asked not to be revealed.

The woman said she stepped back from the truck at that point, and the driver lunged at her as if he was trying to grab her. He then drove away from the area.

"Bad things happen. And you just have to be careful and she is careful and she is very smart. She did exactly what she is supposed to do. She called the police. She alerted her neighbors," said the neighbor.

The woman described the driver as a heavyset Hispanic male, between 30 and 40 years old.

She described the truck as a newer model GMC or Chevrolet gray pick-up. It had a red, white and blue license plate, state unknown.
