Deputies find missing Houston girl in Louisiana with 3 men

HOUSTON – Deputies said they conducted a routine traffic stop only to find a missing Houston girl in the car with three men.

According to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office, a Houston girl went missing Thursday, but was found in the car of three alleged illegal aliens from Guatamala in Louisiana on Friday morning.

The deputies pulled over a red Honda Civic on Interstate 12 near Mandeville with a Texas license plate for traveling with their high beams on, officials said.

During the stop, deputies were alerted that the girl in the car had been reported missing by Houston police on Thursday.

All three immigrants were taken into custody by the U.S. Border Patrol and the girl was transferred back to Houston.

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Randy Smith said, “We are uncertain of the circumstances that occurred in Houston, and not sure what the intentions were of these three men; however, we are happy that this young lady is now safe and back home with her family.”

Deputies said the girl might have been a victim of human trafficking if they had not intercepted.
