HOUSTON - The Harris County medical examiner identified the man who was shot and killed following a confrontation with another driver.
The victim, identified as 27-year-old Thomas Bull, drove himself to a relative's home in the Champion Forest area in northwest Harris County late Monday.
"Deputies received a call [at 10:36 p.m. Monday] from an unknown female stating that her brother was shot and he was inside the house and that she was leaving," said Robert Spurgeon with the Harris County Sheriff's Office. "Deputies came to the scene and discovered a deceased white male inside the residence."
Spurgeon said the woman called about 35 minutes after the shooting.
"Things like this don't happen here. They never happen here. This is one of the safest areas of the city," said Sal Gatto, who lives in the neighborhood.
Investigators believe Bull was involved in a car chase and shooting in a neighborhood near Cypresswood Drive earlier that night.
People living at North Greenfield and Seaton Valley said they heard gunshots just before 10 p.m. A person who called 911 reported seeing gunfire and two vehicles racing.
At the condominium where Bull's body was found, deputies also found a white Saturn matching the description of one of the vehicles in the shooting.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS.
