Deputies arrest felon after narcotics investigation

SPRING, Texas – Montgomery County deputies have arrested a felon who has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and felony money laundering.

Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office had been conducting an investigation since Friday at 2109 Sawdust Road in Spring.

During a search deputies found 2.1 ounces of methamphetamine, one hand gun, an assault rifle, numerous prescription medications, $7,000 cash and a vehicle. Deputies seized all items.

Michael Layne Rawls was arrested Monday.
