HOUSTON -

Two men have been arrested and two others are on the run after a burglary at a southwest Houston restaurant supply store early Thursday morning.

Just after midnight, Houston police were called to the Chef Mart Restaurant supply store on Bissonnet and the Southwest Freeway.

Police said four men were reportedly loading up a U-Haul van with pricey deep fryers.

Police said the burglars pried open the doors and took the fryers before officers arrived.

Officials spotted the U-Haul a short time later and tried to pull it over. The driver refused and sped off.

After a lengthy chase, police said the driver smashed into a METRO bus stop and a fire hydrant.

All of the burglars jumped out of the van and took off running in the Maplewood West subdivision off Fondren and Willowbend.

Police set up a perimeter and searched the area with the help of a helicopter and K-9 units.

Detectives eventually found two of the men hiding on top of the roof of a home.  They were arrested.

Two others escaped police.

Employee Mike Rizzi told Local 2 that this is the fourth time he can remember the store being burglarized.

Police said all of the stolen fryers were recovered, but some were damaged.
