David Greiss

David, a graduate of The University of Houston with a BFA in Theatre, has a long history with Theatre Under The Stars. A first year alumnus of the Humphreys School of Musical Theatre in 1972, David went on to perform in over 20 TUTS productions. His attention turned to the travel industry where he worked in sales for Braniff International followed by several leading travel agencies. The entrepreneurial spirit emerged when in 1983 when he opened Advance Travel which focused on mid-size business and vacation travel. In 1986, he started a niche-market wholesale division called Advance Damron Vacations. After selling his business in 1996, David turned back to his passion for theatre as the Group Sales Manager for TUTS. He began to manage TUTS' web site and began the cutting-edge StarMail e-blast. Simultaneously, he also began to oversee the operations of the Box Office and by 1998 had also begun managing the in-lobby merchandise operations for TUTS. In 2001, David accepted the position of Director of Sales and Marketing, bringing together under one title all of the various facets of the company that were already under his direction; Marketing, PR, Ticketing and the new Encore boutique in the Hobby Center.
