A Houston dad jailed over a complicated child support case that received international attention was released from jail Wednesday night.
Clifford Hall has spent the past week in the Harris County Jail after a judge says Hall didn't pay his child support on time. Hall's attorney claims child support payments were garnished, but the money never reached his ex-wife and son.
Despite paying what was owed and $1,000 extra, Hall still had to serve jail time under the law.
Hall talked to us about finally being released and seeing his son.
"Like I said the only reason I did this was because he said, 'Dad I want you to keep fighting and because I want to come live with you.' So I knew I had to do this in order to be able to do that," Hall told Local 2.
Hall says he found out earlier Wednesday that he was being released. He's been in jail a total of eight days.
He says he's excited to get something to eat and to see his son.
