The lockdown at Cy-Fair High School has been lifted after authorities did not find a weapon on campus. 

Cy-Fair ISD said they were notified around 8 a.m. about a report of a weapon in a student’s car in the parking lot. The school was placed under lockdown out of precaution.

Police searched cars in the parking lot, but did not find a weapon.

The lockdown was lifted around 9 a.m.

The district did not say what type of weapon was reported.

Cy-Fair ISD said a letter will be sent to parents explaining what happened.

The school is located at 22602 Hempstead Highway in Cypress.
