A man riding his bicycle was hit by a car after riding into oncoming traffic at an intersection in west Houston, according to police.
The cyclist was riding on the 59 feeder road nearing the Westpark Drive intersection around 5:45 a.m., police said.
The driver of the car was traveling on Westpark Drive and passed through the green light at the intersection when he hit the cyclist, according to officials.
The cyclist was taken to Ben Taub hospital in serious but stable condition, authorities said.
The driver of the car stopped after the incident and talked to police.
Police said they will not press charges.
