Police are investigating a deadly accident involving a bicycle and a SUV in northeast Houston.
It happened on Homestead near Parker around 6:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Houston police said a SUV was driving along Homestead when the driver hit the cyclist.
Meka Calip had just dropped her kids off at school and was on her way home when she witnessed the accident.
"I seen (sic) the bike flipping in the air and I see (sic) the guy hitting the ground, so I turned back around and the guy wasn't breathing," said Calip.
She called 911 and emergency crews rushed to the scene.
Officials said the cyclist was transported to Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital where he later died.
Police said the driver of the SUV was not speeding and the man on the bike was not in the crosswalk. The female driver was questioned and did not exhibit any signs of intoxication
Police said their investigation is ongoing, but as for now, the woman will likely not face any charges.
Names of those involved were not immediately released.
