Crowded Family Dollar store robbed at gunpoint

HOUSTON – Detectives are searching for three men involved in an armed robbery in northwest Harris County.

Police said around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, two men wearing bandanas stormed into the Family Dollar off Fairbanks N. Houston near Rodney Ray.

According to investigators, the two men held the clerk and other employees at gunpoint while they demanded money. The suspects grabbed the cash from the register and forced the clerk to open the safe before snatching the rest of the money. Several customers, including a 12-year-old boy, were inside the store during the robbery.

The two suspects also stole cigarettes before they ran out of the store.

Deputies on the scene said the suspects stole about $1,000.

Investigators said the suspects were last seen wearing all black, had black bandanas covering their faces and had black baseball style hats on. They had a thin build and are believed to be between 18-19 years of age.
