Truck drives into Houston jewelry store

HPD: Suspect did not take anything during attempted burglary

HOUSTON – Police are investigating an attempted burglary at a southwest Houston jewelry store.

It happened early Wednesday morning after a suspect rammed their truck into New Gehna Jewelers, located in the 5900 block of Hillcroft.

Police said the suspect did not take anything because the owners lock up all of the merchandise inside safes; however, they did leave a big mess and the entire front of the store was smashed in.

Officials said the owner is reviewing surveillance cameras in hopes they caught a glimpse of the person responsible.

The owners told Local 2 this is the second time their store has been broken into.
