Police: Man holds boy hostage, keeps officers at bay

The man allegedly assaulted his ex-wife then took their 4-year-old son hostage

HOUSTON – A man is accused of holding his four-year-old son hostage and keeping police at bay in northeast Houston.

Houston police said they were called to a home on Jordan Heights near Wells Forest around 10 p.m. Saturday for an assault in progress call. Once they arrived, police say a woman told them her ex-husband hit her with the butt of a gun, then grabbed their 4-year-old son and ran inside the house.
