HOUSTON – A day after 73-year-old Margaret Jackson used a barbecue fork to fight off a home invasion suspect, she is fully embracing a new alter ego.
Police have nicknamed her Gangster Granny, and she's ready to take her method of self defense to the masses.

"They want to learn how to use the fork, I can self defense in the fork," said Jackson. "I was sticking and he was hurting. So he had to get to stepping."
Jackson spoke to Local 2 right after the attack Friday afternoon, showing just how she used the fork to fend off the suspect.
"I opened the door like this, real fast. And he was back there. And he came from back there and he pushed me. We were struggling," said Jackson as she demonstrated the fight. "He was trying to get away. He was pushing on me. He turned around. And when he turned around, that's when he messed up. I got him right in the neck."
Jackson's boldness is now known all over her Northeast Houston neighborhood.
"She had to do what she had to do," said resident Chris Redd. "I hope she got him good."
When Local 2 checked back with Jackson, after she had a day to think about the dangerous situation, she said there is one thing she will do differently if a thief ever tried to break into her home again.
"If I know he got a weapon, I'm not going to do it the same way," Jackson said. "I'm going to call police. But I'm still going to keep him out of here some way or another. I'm not going to let him get in this house."
