Aacinto City pawn shop robbed twice

JACINTO CITY, Texas – A Jacinto City pawn shop was robbed twice in less than two months, possibly by the same masked men, police said.

"They seem to be pretty organized and professional doing this," Jacinto City Police Dept. Sgt. Dennis Walker said. "And they will hit again. We need to find (them.) They're considered armed and dangerous."

According to Jacinto City Police, two men were seen on surveillance video entering the Cash America Pawn on 10235 Market Street Road Thursday evening, one of them wielding a gun.

"They advised everybody in the store to put their hands above their head or they will kill you," Sgt. Walker said. "One of them jumped the counter and proceeded to take jewelry from the jewelry counters. They were only in the store a little over one minute but they robbed a large amount of jewelry."

The suspects got away in a small black SUV, possibly a Geo Tracker, police said.

No one was injured, but police said they believe, the same suspects may have robbed the same store seven weeks earlier.

"We had a similar robbery, just like this one," Sgt. Walker said. "Except a little bit more violent." Surveillance footage from the July 19 incident doesn't show the suspects with guns, but it does appear to show them smashing the jewelry counter with a sledgehammer, police said.

While no one was hurt in either incident, police warn, it's just a matter of time before someone is hurt.

"We need to get them secured and captured and placed in jail," Sgt. Walker said. "We need to stop this as soon as possible before someone gets hurt."

Anyone with information, is asked to call Jacinto City Police or Crime Stoppers.
