Authorities are asking for help as they search for the three suspects wanted in the armed robbery of a Fresno-area home.
Officials said just after 3 p.m. Wednesday, Fort Bend County sheriff’s deputies were called to the home in the 1900 block of Thistle Creek Court for a home invasion robbery.
One of the victims told deputies that the suspects parked near the home in a gray sedan. One suspect went to the front door with a paper in hand, posing as a neighbor who had received mail that belonged to the victim. Once the victim opened the door, he said the first suspect rushed him and was quickly joined by the two other suspects. The suspects then tied the victim up.
"They gained entry into his house by knocking on the door and pretending to be a neighbor who was delivering a piece of mail that had been delivered to the wrong home," said Capt. James Burger of the Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office.
Once-24-year old Michael Chenier opened the door, you can see the suspect rush inside, quickly joined by the other two men who were waiting in the car.
They beat Chenier and then tied his arms and legs with zip ties. We spoke exclusively with the victim's father who says it was clear his son put up quite a fight.
"You can see when you first go in, stuff has been tossed around, like they were fighting before they hit him enough to bound him, I am just glad for his life, I am just glad he is okay,"said Al Chenier, the victim's Father.
The suspects brought Chenier to a back room and ransacked the home.
Surveillance video shows the suspects load the stolen items into their grey Crown Victoria, before stealing the victim's car, a 2002 black Pontiac Grand AM.
The stolen vehicle was recovered early Thursday morning in Houston. It had been stripped of the rims, tires, and audio system. Even the sun roof had been removed. Now the search is on for those three suspects.
"I hope we find out and catch whoever has done this," said Chenier.
The sheriff’s office released the following descriptions for the suspects:
- Suspect 1: Man in his early 20s, about 6 feet tall and 220 pounds.
- Suspect 2: Man believed to be 18-20 years old, about 5 feet tall with a slender build and was last seen wearing a red shirt.
- Suspect 3: Man believed to be 18-20 years old with a thin build.
Authorities said the suspects took off with a television set and a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am owned by the victim.
