Sunrise alarm clock to debut

HOUSTON – If you're tired of waking up to certain songs on your phone, or that migraine-causing beeping of a traditional clock, there might be another open debuting soon. A sunrise light bulb alarm clock.

The "Misfit Bolt" is a product coming out of the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

It's a Wi-Fi connected bulb that promises to wake you up with a simulated sunrise and gradual soft light.

The bolt bulb will sell for $50 and goes on sale next Tuesday.

There's another product coming out of the CES and this one's pertains to parents. "TempTraq" is a wireless thermometer patch.

You attach an adhesive under your child's armpit and pair it with your iPhone or Android.

If you don't want to wake your child to take their temperature, or if your baby is home with a caregiver and your're at work, you can quickly find out if you need to leave to take them to the doctor.

You can also set alerts if the temperature reaches a certain threshold. Right now the product is under FDA review.

As the price of beef keeps rising, ranchers are turning to genetic testing to find cows that will yield tastier steaks, according to the Wall Street Journal.

A recent report says cattle breeders are paying up to $100 an animal for DNA testing.

It typically involves sending a blood sample off to a lab. Researchers say certain genetic markers can help ranchers predict weight gain and meat quality in cows.

They can use that information for breeding cattle with better genes.
