Craigslist purchase turns violent

HOUSTON – A man who was trying to sell his Ford F-150 was attacked and shot in the chest late Thursday night in the parking lot of a popular restaurant in northeast Houston, investigators said.

Houston police said the shooting happened at the Flamingo Chill restaurant on Airline Drive near Parker Road about 9:30 p.m.

According to investigators, the owner of the truck was contacted by someone online and they both agreed to meet to look at the truck.

"At some point during the course of the deal, two unknown suspects pulled out a weapon and shot our (victim) once in the chest area," Officer R. Gray said.

After the shooting, the suspects took off in the truck and police are still searching for them.

Meanwhile, paramedics rushed the victim to Ben Taub, where he was listed in critical condition.

Police have not released a detailed description of the truck or the suspects.
