Craigslist ad lands man in jail

Police: He was shopping for young girls

HUMBLE, Texas – An undercover agent posing as a 15-year-old girl on Craigslist led to a Humble man being charged with two counts of online solicitation of a minor. If convicted, he could spend 20 years in prison.

Investigators with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office arrested 33 year old Randolph Stringer.  According to court documents an undercover deputy discovered an ad on Craigslist that read:

"I'm looking for an eager, fun young lady to spend some time with me.  Contact with pictures asap.  The younger the better please."

The undercover deputy sent an email to Stringer posing as a 15 year old girl and the two began to communicate.

In one of the emails, deputies allege Stringer wrote; "If I pick you up one day soon and get you a phone, would you be kewel (cq) with hooking up and having some fun?"

That same day deputies said Stringer wrote, "I'm going to teach you how to be naughty.  I know you will be good at it." and "Would you mind wearing a skirt on the day I pick you up?"

Court documents show that several of the emails were sexual in nature including one that read, "I really want to see you naked, sweetie."

Detectives with the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a felony search warrant on Stringer's residence.  They said he admitted to posting the ad on Craigslist and even told detectives that he had met other young girls through the same posting.

"It's disturbing," said Sergeant Gary Spurger, with the Harris County Constable's Office Precinct 4.  "The guys who do these kinds of things don't have a conscience."

Spurger warns parents to get involved and know who their kids are talking to online.

"If you're not talking to your child, somebody else is," he said.  "I suggest you get involved."
