HOUSTON -

Houston police conducted a search for two suspects who robbed a couple at gunpoint in The Heights.

It happened Thursday night when the couple was walking to their home. According to reports, two young men ran at them from behind near Norhill and Woodland. They held guns to the victims' heads and demanded money. Police said they got away with a wallet -- then ran to a nearby car and drove away.

The couple said they've become victims of crime like an increasing number of their neighbors.

"Once a week or so, we now have somebody being robbed," said Holger Bause, a robbery victim. "Somebody's house gets broken into, etc."

Recent crime statistics from HPD showed that in March of 2012, the neighborhood that comprises The Heights had 90 reported crimes -- including 57 thefts and two robberies.

This past March, there were 109 crimes -- including 87 thefts and three robberies.
